  • Cuts or sores that won't heal
  • Extreme/frequent thirst or
    hunger
  • Numb or tingling hands or feet
    Unexplained weight loss

A person that has been diagnosed with diabetes may have none, one, or more of these warning signs.  A person experiencing these symptoms should contact a doctor immediately.

Complications:
Persons with diabetes are at risk for complications such as amputations, heart attacks, strokes, blindness, kidney failure and gum disease. Experts note that amputations are one of the most serious consequences of poor diabetes management.
